Since then, additional improvements have been made with the most recent partial renovation in 2006. The village is located just 12kms south of beautiful Old Corfu town. Benitses' places of interest include the Corfu Sea Shell Museum, Benitses Springs, Achillion Palace, Pontikonissi-Kanoni. There is a choice of local traditional restaurants with Corfiot cuisine, coffee bars and music cafes along the beach and in the village. There is regular public transport to and from the city centre.
