When "Orient Express" reached Istanbul five years after its operation in 1883, the first hotels of Istanbul had already begun to appear, in the very cosmopolit westernized section of the city called "Pera". One of those hotels was "Hotel Buyuk Londra" or "Grand Hotel De Londres", which soon after its opening took its place among the best hotels of Istanbul, together with Tokatliyan and Pera Palace.
Hotel Buyuk Londra is one of the few establishments managing to survive from that era to our time. Passing through many renovations, the hotel nevertheless still graciously reflects the atmosphere of the 1900's.

- Once, Grand Hotel de Lonres Restaurant was located at the lobby floor and it was well-known amongst locals. This tradition continues today with three bars located in various floors and Buyuk Londra hospitality. From presentations to celebrations, hotel is the ideal destination for all your meetings, events, banquets and gala affairs.
- Buyuk Londra Hotel's Terrace is a point of attraction for locals as well as foreigners both staying at the hotel and living in Istanbul. Overlooking the picturesque 'Golden Horn' or Haliç Sea, this terrace serves snack foods and various drinks. Terrace is closed in winters. (35 person capacity)
- Located in lobby, Lobby Bar is a popular meeting place especially in winters. (60 person capacity)
- Located at the ground floor, Glavany Bar is suitable for private events like birthday parties, mettings etc. (20 person capacity)
- The open buffet breakfast is served here located just downstairs from lobby.

- With rooms at various sizes and locations in the hotel, there is something for everyone. Some rooms are recently decorated. All rooms have private baths. All standart rooms face the street next to the hotel, Kallavi. These rooms are average in size and have small private baths with shower. (twin or double beds)

Beyoglu is live almost 24 hours, which means you can go out relatively safely even at nights. You will have the widest choice of cafes, restaurants, various shops, bookstores .... at your service even at very late hours. The city's longest pedestrian street is just 50 meters away from the hotel.
The hotel's central location makes it easier than elsewhere to reach any point in the city; major historic attractions are less than two kilometers away, the city's best restaurants, entertainment and culture venues are just around the corner, and the major convention centers are less than a kilometer away. Taksim Square which is like the transportation hub of Istanbul, is only 250 meters.
Big tourist attractions in Sultanahmet area beyond the bridge at approximately two kilometers distance, so you may have to take a vehicle to reach there.
